- Vehicle up to 3.5 t
- Uses an electronic vignette for a light vehicle.
- Trailer/caravan
- A separate e-vignette is required for the trailer if the combined maximum permissible mass of the vehicle and trailer exceeds 3.5 t.
- Heavy vehicle
- Generally uses distance-based tolling, with charges depending on the route and vehicle characteristics, rather than a light-vehicle vignette.
This threshold uses the maximum permissible masses in the registration documents. For special vehicles, such as a heavy M1 motorhome, check the applicable rules with BGTOLL.
