Before you travel

EasyToll links a bank card to the registration number and is valid for 30 days after registration.

Which vehicle category?

Portuguese motorways

Class 1
Motorcycles and vehicles with height above the front axle below 1.10 m, with or without a trailer.
Class 2
Two axles and height above the front axle of 1.10 m or more.
Class 3
Three axles and height above the front axle of 1.10 m or more.
Class 4
Four or more axles and height above the front axle of 1.10 m or more.

Certain approved taller models can use class 1 under special conditions with automatic payment. Approved models and discount conditions are published by Via Verde.

Height above the front axle is different from overall roof height. The front of the vehicle is on the right in this diagram.

How to pay

In the conventional system, take a ticket and pay at the exit. For electronic-only sections, activate a suitable payment method for a foreign registration number through PT Tolls.
